“What a beautiful day. I am so glad to celebrate world refugee day by collaborating with the EUTF/UNDP project that is very close to my heart and was my dream and idea since I opened my beauty salon Luvión Salon. I introduced my idea to Isabella, Head of UNDP Erbil office and I am so thankful she loved it. We brought a couple from the camp and gave them a fairytale day to remember. I once also was a refugee that’s why I feel so connected to these people and I feel their pain. These people have fled their homes because of war and have seen so much pain and death, they have been living in the camp for 6 years but their love has given them hope to believe in a brighter tomorrow where they can have a normal life outside the camp. It’s very important that we never forget where we came from and always stay humble. To me, life is about finding ur gift and giving it back to the world. That’s the real purpose of life to have kindness and mercy and remember that we are all same.”
